FYI and topic of interest. In my endeavor to master the skills of soldering and to gain some knowledge on the subject of circuiting, I patiently await the arrival of (4) DIY Radio 40m cw shortwave Transmitter QRP Pixie kit Reciever 7.023-7.026MHz. It amazed me I could order four kits for a total of $9.96 and no shipping fees. I have also found a lot of info on the internet about these kits including YouTube Videos. If there is a shared interest here don’t hesitate to share and I will keep you posted on my new amateur radio adventure.

Soldering Pixie Kit UPDATE -In just over 3 weeks the Pixie kits have arrived. After reading a FORUM POST (at some other active & interactive web site) I will consider replacing the supplied 7.023MHz crystal with solder post sockets to allow interchanging crystals such as 7.030 MHz which is a QRP calling frequency in the U.S.

Learning how to solder is a critical skill. Once you learn it, you will always be able to do it (kinda like riding a bike.. :)

I recommend all club members consider buying simple "how to solder" kits - available on Amazon - and learn this important skill.

Here is one example: https://smile.amazon.com/Elenco-AmeriKit-Learn-Solder-Kit/dp/B0009Z3JJA/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1510260275&sr=8-1&keywords=how+to+solder+kit
