NVIS (Near Vertical Incident Skywave) antennas are great for concentrating QRP radio transmitter energy into the local area (200-500 miles depending on time of day). The advantages are low band noise, get around mountains and hills, and increased signal strength in the covered area.
There are a number of types of NVIS antenna designs, and we will cover a number of them, plus an experimental compact version at our January club meeting.
